# Coventry City confirm second summer exit as Norman Bassette heads out again

Coventry City have parted ways with Norman Bassette for a second consecutive summer as the striker heads home to Belgium in search of game time.

The 21-year-old has joined Belgian top flight side KVC Westerlo on a season-long loan with a clause in the arrangement for an option to buy.

Bassette spent last season out on loan at French second division side Stade de Reims and then German Bundesliga 2 side Kaiserslautern, having fallen out of favour under Frank Lampard.

The player joined the Sky Blues for an undisclosed fee from French club Caen back in the summer of 2024, signing a four year deal. But things haven’t worked out for the Belgian international who has also been of interest to Standard Liege.

He clearly doesn't figure in City's plans - a situation strengthened following the club's promotion to the Premier League.
