Xabi Alonso gets his first taste of Chelsea against Tottenham at Stamford Bridge this evening, after Fulham’s trip to Coventry and QPR’s home game against Championship leaders Swansea.

Fulham are still looking for their first away win of the season, while Rangers have already beaten one leader at Loftus Road this year – Coventry, in January – and will be looking for more of the same.

In the National League, Wealdstone travel to Aldershot.

Mike Penders will continue in goal for Chelsea while Emi Martinez recovers from surgery. Boss Alonso has compared the 21-year-old to fellow Belgian Thibaut Courtois, the former Chelsea keeper, and Penders has already helped see out the club’s first Premier League clean sheet since January.

Malo Gusto is fit, but Pep Chavarria and Emmanuel Emegha miss out.

Only a point separates Fulham and the Sky Blues, with Chelsea legend Frank Lampard’s Coventry 17th and Alvaro Arbeloa’s team a place below.

Remarkably, this will be the first time they have met in the Premier League. Fulham did not reach the top flight until 2001, the year Coventry dropped out of it.

Ryan Sessegnon is suspended, while Lampard is without Aurele Amenda, Luke Woolfenden, Josh Eccles and Haji Wright.

In January, Richard Kone and Nicolas Madsen scored as QPR came from behind to beat Coventry, who were top at the time and went on to win promotion.

Swansea arrive in similar form. Vitor Matos’s side made their best start to a season for more than a century, and until last weekend they had the meanest defence in the division.

They also enjoy coming to west London, having won 2-1 on each of their past two visits.

Julien Stephan’s side have lost only two of their 11 league games, but injuries are biting.

Madsen is out until after the international break along with Rumarn Burrell and Tariq Lamptey. Amadou Mbengue is out for the season, and Ilias Chair is still unavailable.

That leaves Kealey Adamson in line to play at right-back. Kone is fit despite a scare last weekend, and Karamoko Dembele could make his first appearance since January.

Dennis Cirkin is available again after suspension, but Boy Kemper has been excellent at left-back in his absence.

Wealdstone, 19th in the National League, travel to 12th-placed Aldershot, where they won 3-0 in April.

Chelsea v Spurs kicks off at 5.30pm. The other three games start at 3pm.
