That's according to assistant boss Dean Holden, who has taken the opportunity to stress that Vaz is still young and has a lot to learn as he settles into life at the MKM Stadium.

The striker was one of six deadline day signings for the Tigers, with the 19-year-old arriving on a season-long loan from Roma, who he joined for a significant transfer fee back in January.

City do have the option to buy the Frenchman next summer and if he can impress in his first Premier League season, that is something they look likely to consider.

Should he get the nod as expected then, Vaz will be determined to take his opportunity and Holden certainly likes what he has seen so far.

"He's obviously a very exciting young player, as has been the profile of the ones we've brought through the door," Holden said on the France youth international. "I've only seen him a couple of times live in training last week but he certainly caught the eye in terms of his finishing ability and dynamism. He's an exciting young player.

"We worked hard throughout the window to bring players in that we think can add to what we already had. He's another example of that.

"Some of the clubs he's played for are big names in European football. He's still only young, don't forget, and he has a lot to learn in terms of getting to grips with not just the football side of it, but moving to another country and getting settled off the pitch.

"There's a lot of work going into that at the moment for a lot of the players. They'll need time to adapt and to get to know the group.

"Certainly when we see him on the pitch, we'll hopefully see some exciting performances."
