# King Power set condition for Leicester City takeover as price tag emerges

The club has endured a rapid nosedive with three relegations in four seasons leaving them stranded in League One. The atmosphere has also grown toxic, with the club only winning two of their opening six domestic matches of the new campaign and more pressure falling on Russell Martin.

Reports claim the club is valued between £160m-£200m, but it's said the club has not officially been put up for sale. Part of the reason this is due to the fact Khun Top wants to ensure the legacy of his late father Vichai is protected, eight years after he was killed in a horrific helicopter crash outside the King Power Stadium.

The Telegraph report that it's unlikely Khun Top will step aside unless he finds, what he perceives is, "the right buyer". Scottish-Indian businessman, Neil Lal, recently stated he is fronting a consortium who wants to purchase the club. There are yet to be any talks between Lal and any senior Leicester board members.

Earlier this year, Khun Top gave a rare interview in which he discussed his stance on a sale of the club.

“The first day I came in (August 12, 2010) with my father, we made plans," he said.

"We loved football and we loved the club. I still feel every bit the same,” he said. “I’m very passionate about football and I said in my first interview, when I was 25, that I wanted to be in this for the long term.

“Selling the club is not the way to exit anyway. I have to make sure that I complete everything that I did here before I want to leave. Now I need to make sure the club is in a good place.

“Then, if some prince comes in and the club can be like Manchester City, for example, maybe yes, but I am sure that is a long, long way away.

“I still love it here. I want to make sure the club is successful again.”
