# Liverpool FC player took photos with restaurant staff on his birthday

James Nolan, who runs the Deysbrook pub in West Derby, bought the old Justino's Restaurant & Bar in Aigburth back in April 2024. He changed the name of the restaurant to Amici and after he invested more than £100,000, it has now reopened to the public.

The Italian restaurant reopened with a capacity of more than 100 people, a new interior and full kitchen along along with new kitchen equipment and a renovated bar area.

The restaurant has since become a staple of the area and gone viral on occasion for its famous garlic bread pasta bowls.

Liverpool FC's Koumas paid the restaurant a visit to celebrate his 21st birthday. During his time in the venue, he was kind enough to take a photo with staff member Sam who was elated to meet the star.

Sharing the photo on Instagram, Amici said: "Last night we had a visit from LFC’s own Lewis Koumas to celebrate his 21st birthday at Amici for one of our live entertainment nights. Always a pleasure to welcome a local talent through our doors, Thanks for joining us!"

Koumas previous revealed he never lost faith he could make it as a Liverpool player after starring in the 3-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Carabao Cup.

The Wales international won the player of the match award at Anfield as the Reds secured a fourth-round place following a hard-fought victory over Roberto De Zerbi's Spurs.

Speaking after the game, the youngster insisted his belief that he could become a Reds player never wavered during loan stints with Stoke City, Birmingham City and most recently Hull City.

Koumas said: "Did I ever have doubts? No, I never showed a weak mentality about how the future would look for me at Liverpool.

"I always had the drive that I would get here. The reason for going out on loan was to prepare for this moment. It all sort of worked out.

"A lot of hunger can be lost in the game with how things go. But for me coming through the pre-academy and right through the academy, my hunger has always been there.

"My hunger comes from representing Liverpool Football Club. Wanting to give everything for the best club in the world.

"I think how I play is ultimately the Liverpool way. We've always been a club where players have to give absolutely everything on the pitch. We're bringing that back now and the crowd are loving it."
