The World Cup is now in full swing and there is plenty of Nottingham Forest representation across the Atlantic.

Reds both past and present are involved on the global stage in what is the biggest edition in the tournament’s storied history. No doubt there will be plenty of twists and turns to be had before it all comes to a head in the final on July 19.

Will there be a Forest representative involved when the trophy is presented to the winners? We wait to find out, but there is plenty for Reds fans to keep an eye on in the meantime.

Sabri Lamouchi: The ex-Forest manager is now in charge of Tunisia. They are in Group F, along with Sweden, Japan and the Netherlands.

Danilo: A fans’ favourite during his time at the City Ground, the midfielder left for Botafogo 12 months ago - albeit he has been linked with a return to the Premier League this summer. He is part of the Brazil squad gunning for glory. They are in the same group as Scotland.

Matt Turner: The switch from Arsenal to the banks of the Trent didn’t work out for the goalkeeper. He is now on loan at New England Revolution from Lyon and part of a USA team hoping to do well on home turf. Paraguay, Australia and Turkey make up their group

Richie Laryea: Another signing that didn’t work out, the Canadian left Trentside for Toronto FC in 2024. Joint-hosts Canada are in Switzerland’s group.

Brice Samba: The Forest promotion hero is part of the France squad aiming to put right the heartbreak of losing to Argentina in the final four years ago. Senegal, Iraq and Norway make up their group.
