Watford's pre-season friendly at Barnet next month will move 24 hours earlier if England are playing in the World Cup semi-final at the same time.

The Hornets are due at The Hive on Wednesday, July 15 for a 7.45pm kick-off, their second scheduled friendly of the summer.

However, should the Three Lions win their World Cup group and progress to the final four, they will kick off at 8pm that night.

If that was to be the case, Watford would instead take on Barnet on Tuesday, July 14 (7.45pm kick-off) so that the games don't clash.

Tickets for the game are now on sale and will be applicable to either date.

Tickets for our pre-season friendly at Barnet (Wednesday July 15) are now on sale. Please note however this game will be moved forward to Tuesday July 14 should England be involved in the World Cup semis on July 15.

Thomas Tuchel's side's quarter-final would take place on Saturday, July 11 (10pm), so the date and time will be confirmed then at the latest.

The Hornets take on Boreham Wood on that Saturday (3pm) and are also due to host Hansa Rostock at Vicarage Road on Saturday, July 25.

A number of news reports and online videos documenting Hansa fan behaviour issues have surfaced in recent weeks, including one from May when a flare was thrown by supporters into the home end at FC Saarbrucken.

Herts Police have confirmed they are working closely with both clubs to ensure everyone has a "safe and enjoyable time" and that "disruption to the local community is kept to a minimum", with further updates to follow.
