The defending champions prevailed 4-2 in a thrilling clash to make it two wins out of two for the campaign.

Head coach Sugarman told S4C’s Sgorio: “We made life difficult for ourselves at times, particularly in the first half and I think throughout the game, we struggled a little bit with the set plays.

“But, yeah, delighted to get the three points. I think at the end, we showed some fantastic control and put the game to bed in the end. But, yeah, really pleased with the way we dominated the game today.”

Wrexham could not have wished for a better start to the battle of last season’s top-two.

Katie Barker’s dangerous cross was touched by Amy Reidford and former Cardiff favourite Mikayla Cook tucked her close range effort into the corner of the net.
