Cook, who moved to Wrexham over the summer, grabbed the opening goal just two minutes into the Cardiff City Stadium match-up as Jenny Sugarman's side defeated the Bluebirds 4-2 in an epic Adran Premier clash.

Reflecting on her goalscoring return, Cook told S4C's Sgorio: “I don’t even know what to say. I think coming here, I was a little bit nervous.

“Obviously, it’s the first one back. But, I don’t think I could have asked for a better start, first game for Wrexham and scoring.

“Just right place, right time, really. It’s nice to come back here and to play here again. But, to be able to score is just special.”

Cook's goal was followed by efforts from Natasha Thomas, Katie Barker and Evie Sadler as the defending champions made it two wins out of two to open the league campaign.
