Blackburn Rovers blow as transfer target sends clear message on future

Blackburn Rovers transfer target Daniel Jebbison wants to fight for his place at Bournemouth and impress new boss Marco Rose.

Tony Mowbray's side are interested in a deal for the 22-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Preston North End.

Jebbison has been linked for most of July and yet a deal has never seemed close. Even more so when he travelled out to Austria with the Cherries for their pre-season tour.

The striker then scored for Bournemouth on Friday in a 4-1 win over St Pauli. He then reiterated his desire to stay with Bournemouth.

"My ambitions are to stay here, play and help the team as much as I can, whether it's off the pitch, on the pitch," he told the Daily Echo.

"I'm just here, I want to be here. I'm just excited and I'm taking it day by day.

"I'm not really thinking about the future. I just give 100 per cent every training session, every game.

"There are tons of games. So, I'm sure there's loads of players that might not start at the beginning of the season, but they're definitely going to need their help, that's for sure.

"That's an opportunity for me and like everyone else as well. I take it day by day, tomorrow's tomorrow, and I get given what's given to me.

"I just try making the best out of it, whether it's one minute, 30 seconds, doesn't matter.

"So yeah, I'm glad I did something positive today to help out."
