Blackburn Rovers predicted XI with two changes to bandaged team

Lancashire Telegraph · By Elliott Jackson

Rovers are playing their fifth game in 17 days, facing the Blades on Tuesday night as they did a fortnight ago.

Having made wholesale changes for that game, this clash at Ewood Park will be far more important. Rovers can not make many alterations, even if they wanted to, given the state of their squad.

They have at least got Tom Atcheson back from suspension but otherwise, it is the same group of players.

Mowbray must freshen things up where he can. The backline is unlikely to differ outside of Atcheson, despite Yuri Ribeiro's obvious fitness concerns.

In midfield, Kristi Montgomery can start in his favoured position. Whoever is in the best shape out of Sam Morsy or Adam Forshaw will likely partner him.

In attack, Jayden Fevrier might get his first Rovers start off the right. That would give Dapo Afolayan a breather, with the rest of the attack unable to be rotated.

Predicted Rovers XI: Pears; Alebiosu, Atcheson, McLoughlin, Ribeiro; Forshaw, Montgomery; Fevrier, Cantwell, Morishita; Gudjohnsen.
