MATCH of the Day’s Ashley Williams praised the Cherries hierarchy for their recruitment as Bournemouth went 13 games unbeaten with a 2-1 win at Newcastle on Saturday.

Williams hailed Andoni Iraola for his work with the team, as well as the way Tiago Pinto and Simon Francis go about their business, be that player sales and purchases or around the manager.

Iraola is set to depart the club at the end of the season, and the Cherries have acted quickly to replace him once he goes, with talks at a very advanced stage with German Marco Rose.

Speaking on the BBC program after the victory at the weekend, the first after Iraola announced he would leave, Williams praised the way Bournemouth operates.

“I think it's really refreshing the way Bournemouth go about their business,” he said.

“I think the manager's a class act. He never moans. He loses his best players. They've had to rebuild the whole defence.

“They lost their special player in Semenyo and he didn't moan at all. They recruit really well and they just get on with it.

“And they seem to always, even now bringing this manager in, it seems like a manager that suits the style of the team.

“I think that their model of the way they build teams and the way they put the manager in place is really impressive.”
