THE Cherries squad wants to send Andoni Iraola out on a high by achieving European football, Alex Scott said.

After Bournemouth dropped two points vs Leeds on Wednesday night, they sit seventh in the Premier League with four games to play.

At the end of the gameweek on Monday evening, they will likely be no lower than ninth, unless Sunderland demolish Nottingham Forest on Friday night.

The Cherries trail sixth placed Brighton by one point, in what continues to be a tight table heading into the final rounds of the season.

Iraola will leave the club at the end of the season, when his contract runs out, and he is keen to cement his legacy at the Vitality Stadium.

He was hugely animated on the touchline on Wednesday night, and his emotional investment in getting the club into Europe was clear after the game too, when he fumed at referee decisions going against them.

It is clear he and the squad are well up for the fight and to reach continental competition, and Scott said: “He wants to win every game possible and go out on a high, as we do as players, and we want to do that for him as well for everything he's done for us over the last me personally, three years.

“He's an amazing manager, amazing person, and yeah, I've been grateful to have played underneath him.

“So, we want to win as many games as possible for him, and he's always going to show that passion.”

Scott is excited by the prospect of European football coming to Dean Court.

“[I’m] enjoying my football, enjoying how we're playing.

“We're definitely in and around it. There's a lot of teams that are competing for those spots and yeah, we've got to be on our A-game for these last few games and win as many as possible and put ourselves in the best possible position for these fans and the club to be hopefully in Europe.”
