"It’s experience that is going to be good for him" - Iraola praises Jimenez

ANDONI Iraola praised Alex Jimenez for his mature performance against Leeds, particularly after a heavy challenge and a yellow card in the first half.

Jimenez needed some early treatment after getting his foot trodden on after three minutes, but he was able to continue.

The right back was a continual threat to the Leeds defence on the right, and he dealt with Noah Okafor well defensively.

On Jimenez’s performance, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I like his game because he has had straight away a very hard tackle.

“He was complaining about the ankle. Then after, he has to deal with Okafor. He receives a yellow card and he has to survive all the game with a yellow card.

“Still, he has continued attacking, giving us things offensively, and he has closed quite well his side and his things that he's adding.

“He's so young, he's 20, he's learning to survive with a yellow card against that tough an opponent and it’s experience that is going to be good for him.”
