Five new staff members join Rose

THE Cherries will play their first game under new boss Marco Rose this afternoon when they face St Pauli in a friendly in Austria – and there will be a number of new faces on the touchline.

With the departures of many of the club’s first-team backroom staff after Andoni Iraola left, the club have had to replace the likes of Tommy Elphick, Shaun Cooper, and Pablo de la Torre.

Announced yesterday was the appointment of new assistant head coach Marco Kurth, and Rose also confirmed that Frank Geideck would join the club in his first interview with afcbTV earlier this summer.

Geideck has taken the role of assistant coach, having worked with Rose at both RB Leipzig and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

He first worked with the Cherries boss at Gladbach, where he helped the club to fourth in the Bundesliga in the 2019/20 season and to the last 16 of the Champions League the following campaign.

Geideck went on to join Rose at RB Leipzig in September 2022 and the pair worked together for the next two and a half years.

Rose also confirmed that he would be bringing an analyst with him to the Cherries, and Fabian Fredrich has been appointed technical coach.

An expert in game analysis, squad planning, technology, and strategy, Fredrich was a part of Rose’s backroom staff at Leipzig, where he spent 13 years, having joined as a part-time assistant video analyst when the club was in the fourth division.

He reached the position of head of match analysis at the club, working for them in the Champions League and helping them to two DfB Pokal wins.

Finally, Patrick Eibenberger will take on the role of first-team coach at the Cherries.

Another of Rose’s backroom staff from his previous clubs, Eibenberger worked with the Bournemouth boss at RB Salzburg, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Borussia Dortmund, and RB Leipzig.

He will be responsible for training organisation, athletic performance, and session sequencing, as well as being involved in set pieces.

As reported, Frederic de Boever has joined the club as head goalkeeper coach, with Charlie Philpott promoted from the academy to become his assistant.
