Penalties from Justin Kluivert and Marcus Tavernier put Bournemouth firmly in control in the first half, with Milan skipper Mike Maignan given his marching orders for shoving Tyler Adams in the face for the second penalty offence.
The Cherries were comfortable in the second half and their lead was hammered home when Amine Adli curled a superb free-kick past the Milan wall to make it 3-0 late on.

The Daily Echo rates the Cherries players:
Michele Di Gregorio – 7
A surprise inclusion in the side, but perhaps his four consecutive clean sheets against AC Milan were a good omen as he made that five. He had very little to do on the night as Milan did not have a shot on target for the first time in 96 games.

Adrien Truffert – 8
The entire back line was superb. Truffert was top, bombing up and down the left flank, as the Cherries caused Milan all sorts of problems.
António Silva – 9
Silva's response to the Chelsea game has been nothing short of superb. Three clean sheets in a row and he has been the consistent performer across the three, and he was imperious again.
Bafodé Diakité – 9
Diakité was excellent too alongside Silva, as the defence made sure nothing got through. He played much of the second half at right-back, too, where he was as solid as he was in the middle.

Hill, like Silva, has reacted brilliantly to the Chelsea defeat. Another top performance.
Tyler Adams – 7
Drew the foul for the penalty and red card, which he largely drew because of his height! The American and Christie dominated the midfield, but Adams looked like he was not far away from a second yellow card so he was replaced.

Ryan Christie – 8
An excellent performance from the Scot as he dictated play from midfield.
Marcus Tavernier – 8
A well-taken penalty and Tavernier was a threat throughout until he was replaced.
Justin Kluivert – 8
A similar story to Tavernier – a good first start back from injury for the Dutchman and a coolly converted spot-kick.
Ben Gannon-Doak (Image: Richard Crease)
Ben Gannon-Doak – 9
A real livewire and the Scot was probably just my man of the match. He does have to improve his final ball but he was an absolute menace to the Milan defence and he looks to be growing in confidence with every game he plays.
Another excellent performance from the striker. He is in a great vein of form and long may it continue.
Álvaro Rodríguez – 7
What a goal – a superb free-kick that will give the winger confidence.
