Fabian Hurzeler says simple is best as he urges Albion to keep playing their football.

The Seagulls have been praised for their organisation and competitive edge in recent games which saw them beat Brentford and Nottingham Forest and go down narrowly to Aston Villa and Arsenal.

But there have been glimpse of attractive football too under pressure, mainly with quick and short passing.

Seagulls head coach Hurzeler said: “It's quite impressive, some phases of the game, how we play them, how we control the opponent, how we create chances.

“Especially the first half Brentford, first half Nottingham, were really good benchmark scenes, how to outplay an opponent.

“Now it's about us to make it more in a consistent way.

“The most important in all the sequences we watch is keep it simple

“It’s not about doing complicated things. It's about having good connections on the pitch, knowing what my team-mate will do in this action, knowing what my team will do in an action.

“So really anticipate the actions and getting an understanding for each other. That's why I always emphasise connections because the more time you spend together on the pitch, the better the connections will be.”

Hurzeler made three changes to his XI for the midweek defeat by the Gunners.

But, fitness permitting, it would be no surprise if he were to go to something closer to the XI which started their two recent wins as he plans for Saturday's game at Sunderland.

That would mean recalls for James Milner, Lewis Dunk and Danny Welbeck.

The biggest doubt over that happening would appear to involve Kaoru Mitoma and his left ankle.

Solly March missed out on the Arsenal game having felt some minor reaction in his hamstring to his outing off the bench against Nottingham Forest.

Hurzeler will update on his squad on Friday morning before the squad make the trip to the North East.
