Gross and Boscagli show poise as Albion make a point

Albion came from behind twice at Tottenham in a performance which was not their best but had merit.

The home debut of Roberto De Zerbi as Spurs boss added an extra layer to the challenge which should not be under-estimated and the Seagulls showed resilience to spoil a party.

Bart Verbruggen 6/10

Made a good save from Porro and perhaps a lucky one from Palhinha but a split-second decision to come off his line on the first Spurs goal proved ill-fated.

Mats Wieffer 7/10

Showed willingness to get forward again and turned in a decent display, much of it on a yellow card, if not as prominent as he has been.

Jan Paul van Hecke 7/10

Did some 5/10 stuff and some 9/10, so a mark of seven seems fitting. Was caught out ahead of both Spurs goals and headed a decent chance over but there was some good defending and he was brilliant on the second equaliser.

Olivier Boscagli 8/10

Has seized his chance in the last two games and Albion might have a selection decision to make now. A clever defender and good on the ball.

Ferdi Kadioglu 7/10

Not as eye-catching as he has been but a generally dependable figure at left-back. Should probably have done better with a chance late on.

Pascal Gross 8/10

Expert delivery for the Mitoma cross as well as two big chances at 0-0. Has taken over the on-field midfield leader role to great effect in the last two games and was working as hard as anyone without the ball late on.

Yasin Ayari 6/10

A quiet game doing the bits and pieces in midfield and probably not quite in his most favoured role.

Diego Gomez N/A

Was off to an uncertain start when he went down clearly in agony.

Jack Hinshelwood 6/10

The pick of his contributions was the movement and header which led to van der Ven hitting his own upright.

Yankuba Minteh 7/10

Hit and miss in terms of end product but his ever-present energy and appetite are worth their weight in gold, as was shown in the late push for a second equaliser.

Danny Welbeck 6/10

Had a couple of sniffs at goal thanks to Gross's delivery and might have done better with a header which was saved.

SUBS - Kaoru Mitoma 8/10

Rates highly for what might prove to be his third successive Albion goal of the season. The volley combined exquisite technique, control and confidence on his weaker foot. Other than that, he found it tough to get past his full-back and later went off injured.

Georginio Rutter 7/10

Having needed an extra touch or two early on, he “asked himself no questions” as they say in French to crash home the equaliser first time.

Max De Cuyper 7/10

Was quite progressive and inventive during his outing down the left as Albion chased a leveller.

Matt O’Riley 6/10

Perhaps a surprise return but played his part and can be an asset.

Charalampos Kostoulas 6/10

Quite busy and showed good movement off the ball on the second equaliser.
