Tony Bloom “won’t miss a beat” over losing two key men to Rangers.
That is the verdict from former Albion boss Mark McGhee as he assesses Hearts and the situation in his native Scotland.
Derek McInnes is heading to Ibrox to succeed Danny Rohl as manager just weeks after talismanic captain Lawrence Shankland activated a clause in his contract to join the Gers.
Hearts – with Albion owner Bloom as a minority investor and exclusive access to Jamestown Analytics – are searching for a manager to lead them into next month’s Champions League qualifiers after they were pipped to the William Hill Premiership title on the last day of last season.
Former Aberdeen, Motherwell and Dundee manager McGhee told TalkSport: “I think with Tony Bloom’s involvement in Hearts now, he won’t miss a beat.
“That will be, ‘Fine, that’s done, that’s done’, and he will ramp up his algorithm and he will come out with someone that’s going to lead Hearts into the future who will be equal or better than Derek McInnes. That’s what Tony does.
“And as far as replacing Shankland, he will do the same. Hearts, I think, have a big future.”

McGhee, who was close to becoming manager of Hearts in 2008 before opting to stay at Motherwell, believes McInnes may be walking out on the ambitious Tynecastle club at the wrong time.
He added: “I think Derek McInnes will do a fantastic job at Rangers but, looking back on moves I made, sometimes I made moves that were mistakes.
“And I look at that a little bit and I think what’s happening at Hearts is really quite exciting and I would have been tempted to stay at Hearts.”
