George Tanner on 'job' as a senior City player, euphoria and 'big week' ahead

Bristol Post · Daniel Carter

"There are just no words to describe it really," George Tanner smiles when Scott Twine's winner at Bolton is mentioned. The Bristol City defender found himself in the centre of celebrations, sandwiched between Twine and Sam Bell, and under Joe Williams in the third minute of stoppage time.

It was a moment of pure ecstasy at the end of an afternoon of twists and turns. Having taken the lead through their first open-play goal in more than a month, the Robins found themselves trailing with just six minutes to play. Just as those in the away end started to accept their fate, up stepped Bell and Twine to curtail City's winless run in the most dramatic of fashions.

"It's rare that you get a win like that, especially away from home in the last minute," Tanner says. "It's an excellent win, and the place has been buzzing for the last few days.

"That moment is just unbelievable. It's euphoric; you're just absolutely buzzing, and it doesn't happen often, so you've got to enjoy the moment."
