Coventry City continue to be linked with several players as the club actively look to strengthen ahead of their return to Premier League football.
So far the Sky Blues have added one new face with the arrival of Burnley winger Loum Tchaouna, while it’s expected that Eintracht Frankfurt defender Aurele Amenda will follow.
Here’s a round-up of the latest transfer links, rumours and gossip on social media and in the home and foreign press.
Francisco Moura
City were linked with FC Porto left-back Francisco Moura by Italian TV sports journalist Gianluigi Longari over a month ago.
Now Ekrem Konur, a self-styled ‘Global Transfer News Expert’ with over 245k followers on X, has added weight to the speculation by posting: “ Coventry City are looking to strengthen Frank Lampard’s full‑back options. FC Porto’s 24‑year‑old left‑back Francisco Moura is among the most admired targets.
“He is under contract with Porto until 2029, which includes a €60M release clause.”
Konstantinos Tzolakis
Hull seem hopeful of completing a deal for Coventry linked Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, according to talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook.
“The Premier League new-boys have already started talks over a move for Greek international Tzolakis in a bid to beat off competition from rival clubs,” he reports on X.
Greek sports journalist Konstantinos Lianos adds further weight to the links with his social media post claiming: “Hull, Brighton, Aston Villa, Leeds and Coventry eye Olympiacos keeper Konstantis Tzolakis. Villa will only bid if Emi Martinez leaves. #HCAFC lead race.”
The Sky Blues have been linked with the keeper as a potential alternative to Carl Rushworth, should that deal fail.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fikayo Tomori
City fans have rightly been getting excited about reports from Italy that Frank Lampard is looking to be reunited with two players he managed at Chelsea. Both are currently on the books of AC Milan and remain on Thomas Tuchel’s radar, albeit not making the final squad for the World Cup.
It’s a bid random, given he’s based in Peru, but sports journalist Mateo S who claims to be a ‘Transfer Market Insider’ posted on X this week: “It is confirmed what other media have reported: Coventry City has a concrete interest in Fikayo Tomori and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. There are movements with the entourages of both players on the part of the English club.”
City were first linked to the duo last month when Italian transfer specialist Daniele Longo, a correspondent for calciomercato.com, dropped out the claim in a transfer news round-up on YouTube, reporting: “There have been some soundings, specifically requests for information from Coventry regarding players, Loftus-Cheek and Tomori. It is clear that they would be fine with a coach like (Frank) Lampard but it remains to be seen if they would want to play for a club that has just been promoted to the Premier League. However, there has been a request to Milan.”
