John Eustace confirms Derby County injury blow ahead of West Brom

Rhian Brewster will be out with concussion for the next couple of games with concussion, Derby County boss John Eustace has confirmed.

The striker was forced off inside 22 minutes in the Rams' Championship defeat to West Ham United on Saturday. David Ozoh replaced him with the score at 1-0 before Edvin Austbo and Mohamadou Kante completed the scoring for the Hammers.

Brewster was forced off with concussion and will now have to sit out of Derby's next two matches under the protocols. Eustace's side face West Brom on Wednesday night before hosting Birmingham City on Saturday.

Speaking on Monday, Eustace was asked about the forward's condition after suffering the head injury in the capital on Saturday. "He's unfortunately got concussion so he won't be available now for the next couple of games, which is a blow to us," he said,

"It was great to get Rhian into two consecutive games, which he hasn't done for a long time.

"We're trying to build his fitness up for sure, so to lose him again for a couple of games is a blow, but it gives somebody else an opportunity."

Craig Forsyth is facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury at Portsmouth last week. The defender has been ruled out for at least four months, with Ryan Nyambe replacing him in the starting XI at West Ham.
