When Emil Riis signed for Leicester City at the start of September, Russell Martin's side had scored just four league goals. In the eight league games since his arrival, the Dane has scored six of their 18 goals.
The Dane arrived from Bristol City after finishing as their top scorer in the Championship last season. He marked his Leicester debut with two excellent goals against Stockport County and has made the Foxes a more dangerous side since.
His brace against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday night strengthened the case for him being Leicester's most reliable finisher. It also took him level with the goal tallies managed by Jordan Ayew and Patson Daka last season.

Riis has hit the ground running for the Foxes, and it is easy to see why. At 28, he is in his prime and playing a level below the Championship in a side that creates numerous chances. It is an environment that suits him.
His first goal was a case of being in the right place at the right time. Will Smallbone's corner was flicked on by Caleb Okoli, with a Wigan defender also getting a touch, leaving Riis with a tap-in on the goal line. He nearly scored an almost identical goal moments later.
For his second, Riis' movement inside the box was perfectly picked out by Luke Thomas, allowing the striker to get the decisive touch and make it 2-0. As soon as the ball was played into him, there was little doubt what would follow.

"Amazing and he's a brilliant person, a brilliant pro," Martin said after the game. "He's going to get better, he's going to get fitter because he hasn't really had a pre-season.
"He's a man, he takes hits and he takes the ball for us. He runs hard, he presses like a beast and tonight, he was in the right position to score two goals.
"On Saturday, he was trying to do a bit too much, was my feeling and then we just sat down and looked at it together. Now he has someone like Steve Morison, who played in that position. They can chat a lot, it's not a position I know very well.
"To have someone like Steve to bounce a few things off is really important. I really enjoyed him tonight."
Some strikers might have taken their foot off the gas after scoring twice. Riis didn't. Others might have been disappointed to come off while chasing a hat-trick. Again, Riis didn't show it. When he was replaced by Bobby De Cordova-Reid, he left the field smiling before sharing a hug with Russell Martin.
Riis also received something that few Leicester strikers have enjoyed since Jamie Vardy was at the club: an applause as he left the pitch that appeared to come from every corner of the ground.
Riis is adding more and more to his game and making Leicester difficult to play against. His goalscoring ability is not the only quality that stands out, either. The Dane's strength allows him to hold off defenders when the ball is played into him near the halfway line, helping City relieve pressure on their back line.
Admir Bristric's continued absence from the matchday squad will remain a talking point for some supporters. But while Riis continues to perform at this level, it is difficult to see how the Bosnian can dislodge him any time soon.
For now, Riis is City's man. Only five players have outscored the striker in League One this season. His impact on Martin's side has been positive and if he can continue this trend of scoring, Leicester will only benefit.
