Mo Salah's sister sends heartfelt message to mark special day

Liverpool Echo · Holly Clarke

Salah is firmly established in the club's history books after he managed 257 goals and 120 assists from 442 appearances. Only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt have scored more goals for Liverpool.

The football legend turned 34 today (Monday, June 15) and has been flooded with support from fans and followers.

Salah's older sister Rabab Salah shared a special message to mark his birthday. Sharing a roundup of photos together, including a video of them paddleboarding in the sea, she said: "Happy birthday my brother. Happy birthday king. Love you [red love heart emoji]."

Liverpool FC also shared their own post, writing: "Happy Birthday Egyptian King" alongside a photo shared on social media.

Salah's sister Rabab has spoken publicly in the past about her close bond with her brother and the pride she has felt watching his career blossom.

Last month, she shared photos from Anfield when Salah confirmed his departure from the club.

Sharing a statement on social media, she said: "I don't know if I'm supposed to be feeling today, but what I am sure of is that it's mixed, intrusive and wandering feelings.

"Pride, love, tension, anger and a lot of worry. It was a long, tiring, beautiful, nice, and difficult journey, all at once, I can't describe my feelings.

"Thank you for being, still are, and will continue to be, God willing, the pride of me and my children throughout my life."

The message continued: "I love you very, very much my little brother who had my hand in his hand when we were young and when he grew up, he travelled when he was 12 years old, I remember my worry and fear that is still there to this day, as always, my feelings for you were different from worry, fear, stress, and thinking about you.

"All of this I was worried about more than the success that I have ever had. Appears and no one knows his background.

"May God protect you, preserve you, bless you and help you in what is to come, my brother, my life partner."

Salah is one of Liverpool's most accomplished players. The Egyptian collected medals in the Premier League, Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, Emirates FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, Carabao Cup and FA Community Shield.
