The Reds have already rebuffed one offer from the Etihad Stadium side for their prized asset. The amount put forward by City last week was undisclosed but Forest’s valuation of the midfielder has been put at north of £100 million.
City are believed to be keen to get a deal for Anderson wrapped up before the World Cup begins. The 23-year-old is an integral part of Thomas Tuchel’s squad, with the Three Lions set to kick off their tournament against Croatia on June 17.

Manchester United retain an interest in Anderson, but it is their city rivals who are considered favourites for his signature. City are “confident” of getting a deal done, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
Romano posted on X: “Manchester City are preparing a new official bid to be sent soon to Nottingham Forest for Elliot Anderson. #MCFC confident to get the deal done after leading the race for months, since March. Man United still keen but City ahead & optimistic.”
Forest will be aware that if their star man performs well at the World Cup, it will only increase his value. On the other hand, head coach Vitor Pereira has outlined how any important player who leaves must be replaced and he is keen for the club to get business done early.
Pereira has made clear the Reds want to keep Anderson, who is under contract until 2029. However, he has also admitted it is impossible to control the transfer market as rivals eye up one of his key men.
Pereira has said regarding Anderson’s future: "I don't have the answer. If you ask me if he deserves the best clubs in the world, he deserves.
“He has a lot of quality. He is a talent. But he is our player and I am very happy with him.
“The market is the market, I cannot predict the market. I know we want to keep the same players, to bring two or three players to help us balance the squad. In the end, we'll see."
The summer transfer window will open on June 15. Premier League clubs will have until 11pm on September 1 to complete any deals.
