Oxford United League One rivals admit 28 FA misconduct breaches

Oxford United's League One rivals, Burton Albion, have admitted to 28 breaches of a Football Association misconduct charge.

The charge, related to summer 2024 transfer activities, centres on administrative errors concerning the involvement of Conor Hayden in 25 transactions.

Burton failed to provide required documentation about Mr Hayden's appointment and payments to his agency within the FA's prescribed timeframes.

The club admitted to the administrative oversights after being contacted by the FA for clarification.

They provided full disclosure during the investigation and implemented new processes to prevent future errors.

The Brewers stressed that there was no deliberate attempt to sidestep the FA's Football Agent Regulations.

They asserted the club was entitled to use Mr Hayden's services for all 25 transactions.

However, they neglected to make necessary disclosures due to administrative oversights.

They confirmed that neither the club nor Mr Hayden gained any benefit from these disclosure failings and have since remedied the situation.

A club statement said: "The club wishes to stress that there was no deliberate attempt on its part to circumvent the FA’s Football Agent Regulations.

"Rather, in each of the 25 transactions, the club was entitled to use the services of Conor Hayden but did not make the necessary disclosures due to administrative oversights.

"Neither the club nor Conor gained any benefit or advantage from these disclosure failings and subsequently remedied the position."

Oxford United are set to face Burton Albion at home on September 12 and away on February 20, 2027.
