Argyle fixture dates confirmed for EFL Trophy group stage

The Pilgrims will also be away to Newport County in their other match, with the top two teams in Group E of the Southern Section advancing to the last 32 of the competition.

Crystal Palace under-21s will visit the Theatre of Greens on Tuesday, September 22 for a 7pm kick-off.

The Pilgrims will then make the trip to South Wales to play League Two side Newport County at Rodney Parade on Tuesday, October 6 (7pm).

Their final group game will see a return to Home Park for former Argyle manager Ian Holloway, who is now in charge of Swindon Town, on Tuesday, November 10 (7pm).

The previous weekend will see the Pilgrims in Emirates FA Cup first round action as they take a two-game break from their League One campaign.

Argyle have played Swindon four times in the EFL Trophy since 2018, and have a record of two wins and two defeats in those matches.

The most recent meeting was at the County Ground in September 2022 when the Pilgrims won 3-1 after goals from Will Jenkins Davies, Oscar Halls and Ryan Hardie.
