Argyle Women announce two signings as 2026/27 fixtures released
Midfielder Hana Bennett has joined from Bridgwater United, where she was captain, while young goalkeeper Olivia Giles arrives after playing 23 times for Exeter City over the past two campaigns.
Bennett was Bridgwater's 2024/25 Player of the Season and has previously played for Exeter, Marine Academy Plymouth and Barry Town.

The two signings come after Argyle Women's contracted players were all released after the end of last season as a result of cost-cutting measures by the club.
Several players from the under-18s squad will be stepping up into the first team ranks in 2026/27 - Sienna Gilbert, Chloe Ingrouille, Shana Dolbel, Saskia Worrall, Aimee Walters, Kennedy Garside and Farrah Ambrose.
A number of other players are lined up to be signing very soon, with some likely to feature in a pre-season game at home to Bristol Rovers on Sunday.
Argyle head coach Matt Green said: “I’m delighted to get the signings of Hana and Olivia over the line. They’re two players who will bring different strengths to our squad.
“Hana has been a captain, a leader within her team, and has played a lot of football at a good level. Olivia is a very bright young goalkeeper, with huge potential, great reflexes and good shot-stopping ability.
“We have players ready to join us who have experience at the level we are playing at, and as we have been recruiting, we have been keen to identify players with not only quality, but leadership qualities, experience, and goals.”
Argyle said on their official website: "Among the players to depart this close season is Giota Papaioannou, who played almost 150 times for the Pilgrims, since 2018, and has been the club captain over the last few seasons.
"We want to place on record our gratitude for Giota’s tremendous service and professionalism over many years, and wish her the very best for the future."
Meanwhile, Argyle will begin their FA WNL Southern Premier Division season with an away game against Swindon Town on Sunday, August 16.
They will then play AFC Wimbledon at Home Park on August 23 and travel to newly-promoted Fulham on August 30 before hosting Portsmouth, who were relegated from WSL2 last term, on September 13.
The first of Argyle's two Devon derby game against Exeter will be at St James Park on Wednesday, October 28 with the return match taking place at Home Park on Wednesday, February 10.
In the FAWNL Cup, Argyle will be in Group A, and will play host to Marine Academy Plymouth in the opening game of the competition, on Wednesday, August 26.
A trip to Bridgwater United follows on Sunday, September 6, with the final group stage clash being a home match against Torquay United on Sunday, September 27.
Argyle reached the FAWNL Cup Final last season under former head coach Marie Hourihan but lost 1-0 to AFC Bournemouth at Loftus Road, Queens Park Rangers FC.

These fixtures are a draft schedule for the season and several amendments are possible. Argyle’s home fixtures are scheduled to be at Home Park although fixture clashes with the men's team could mean a venue change, which will be communicated.
