Stoke are looking to make it three wins on the spin after home victories over Norwich and Charlton and get their first away points of the season on the board.

Mark Robins has made the trip to South Wales on the back of a big week back in the Potteries. As well as six points in the bag he has brought in new signings Justin Devenny, Luca Bombino and Jack McGlynn. Devenny scored twice as he made his debut on Saturday. At the same time, Sorba Thomas has left, which triggered a change of system, at least in the short-term.

Cardiff are back in the Championship after an absence of one season. They are looking for their first win after drawing three and losing two of their first five fixtures.

This is the first in an away double header for Stoke, who head to Watford on Saturday before returning to the bet365 Stadium to take on Sheffield United heading into the new three-week autumn international break.

It's working out when you can be on the front foot and when you can't. If they have time on the ball they are going to pick the option that suits them and they do it really well. It was an interesting evening and something we can learn from and grow from. We have done hardly any work on the grass with the players because of the games. Hopefully we will get some time on the training pitch with them."

CommentsPeter SmithToday22:17 BSTRobins: I think we ran out of steamRobins: "I think we ran out of steam in positions. At the moment we haven't got those changes that are going to help bring more to us. That won't be far away. I thought we dug in and ground the point out as you have to. You have to take your hat off to them and the way they play but there is disappointment we didn't get to grips with it better."

CommentsPeter SmithToday22:16 BSTMark Robins reactionRobins: "It was hard to watch, a hard watch - but seven points from three games. It's our first away point of the season. We did enough to get our noses in front but from our perspective we allowed them to have too much of the ball. That's the way they are built, that's Brian, the way he plays and it can cause you problems if you don't work it out. Easier said than done, there's a big distance to cover.

"We just gave them too many opportunities. That was the disappointing thing. The goal they ended up getting... obviously from our perspective it's rubbish but they had a lot of chances. They hit the post three times so I think at the end of it they will think they should have won the game, with possession, shots.

"Our goalkeeper has done great but so has theirs. We had a couple of really good moments to go 2-0 up but the weight of the pressure that ended up coming that caused us problems. We'll take the point. and move on.

"Our supporters were really good."

It gives me the licence to be aggressive from goal-kicks and even in open play. I want to add more goals to my game and I'm happy to get my first for Stoke. I've played wing-back quite a lot in my career and I want to continue to improve in that position and try to get more goals for the team."

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:35 BSTFull-timeStoke had to see out a lot of second-half pressure to get a point.

They had chances on the break to extend their lead but Cardiff had more at the other end, even if Johansson only had one really big save to make. Cardiff hit the post three times.

Stoke end their losing run on the road.

CommentsPeter Smith‌Today21:34 BST90+3Cardiff 1 Stoke 1A big punch from Johansson to clear the danger as Cardiff search for a late winner.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:32 BST90+1Post!Moylan strikes against the post from the free-kick. It took a deflection on the way.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:31 BST90Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Ng runs into Junho, who was hanging out a leg, and wins Cardiff a free-kick down by their right corner flag.

CommentsPeter Smith‌Today21:30 BST89Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Bae Junho snaps in to make an interception and counter. He can't pick a pass in the final third but wins Stoke a corner.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:27 BST86Cardiff 1 Stoke 1A brilliant save from Johansson. He sticks up a hand to stop a shot from Selach after the striker had been played in by Robertson behind Wilmost.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:26 BST85Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Bocat shoots over when well placed.

The first chance of that move saw Cisse come into the box but lack the composure to make it a real opening.

CommentsPeter Smith‌Today21:25 BST84Cardiff 1 Stoke 1There have been some strangely soft decisions go Cardiff's way from Sam Allison in the second half. Stoke have looked bemused that Cisse and McGlynn in particular have been pulled up for winning tackles.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:22 BST81Yellow cardGraham in the book for a foul on Colwill down by the left corner flag.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:22 BST81Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Cardiff have had all the pressure but Stoke can still sniff something when they break. Cisse is offside as he is slipped into space by Galbraith.

CommentsPeter Smith‌Today21:19 BST77Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Cardiff are still well on top and Johansson has to save from Bagan who had skipped too easily through the Stoke area.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:14 BST73Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Selach should put Cardiff in front. He gets the wrong side of Graham and scuffs his shot wide.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:13 BST72Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Bocat gets to the by-line and he tries to pick out a man with a cross rather than a pull-back and Trott gathers.

Cisse on for Bozenik.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:08 BST67Post!Willock sends in another cross and Colwill gets in front of Bocat to get a diving header which hits the upright.

CommentsPeter Smith‌Today21:06 BST64Cardiff 1 Stoke 1Willock dinks it into the six-yard box and Colwill has found space between three defenders for a clean header.

Stoke should have taken their chance for a second goal on the break.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:05 BST63GOAL! Cardiff 1 Stoke 1 - Joel ColwillCardiff are level. A close-range header.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:04 BST63Cardiff 0 Stoke 1Bocat is steaming into the penalty area down the left when Junho has space in the middle and he finds him. Bocat doesn't take the shot on first time and the chance evaporates.

CommentsPeter Smith‌Today21:03 BST62Cardiff 0 Stoke 1Brilliant quick feet and acceleration from Galbraith to bring the ball out of a crowded area in front of his own box and release Bae Junho, who should do better on the counter.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:01 BST60Cardiff 0 Stoke 1Let's see if Bocat can force Tanner to go back - or well he can handle him defensively.

CommentsPeter SmithToday21:00 BST58Stoke subsEric Bocat replaces Bombino.

Bae Junho is on for George Hirst.

CommentsPeter Smith‌Today20:59 BST57Cardiff 0 Stoke 1It'll be interesting how soon Robins uses his bench. He's got some senior players to call on while Cardiff are stretched.

Another cross from Tanner as he gets past Bombino and Johansson flies onto it to grab it in the six-yard box.

CommentsPeter SmithToday20:54 BST53Cardiff 0 Stoke 1Tanner bursts down the Stoke left and kicks it goalwards. Talovierov flies in to make a block and his touch goes with Stoke hearts in mouths across goal and out.

CommentsPeter SmithToday20:53 BST51Cardiff 0 Stoke 1Hirst has to score there. Trott got out quickly and committed himself. Hirst touched it into him.
