Enzo Le Fee reveals bold Sunderland ambiton after Liverpool stunner

Le Fee played in the centre of midfield, scoring an exceptional long-range strike with his left foot against the Reds.

On playing through the middle and scoring his goal, the midfielder told safc.com: “Since the end of last season, I’ve been playing in the same position so I think it helps me a lot to always be in the same position.

“I like to be in the middle, have the ball and control the tempo. I want to be one of the best players in this position but I have to work even more than I already do.

“It’s always nice to score. I don’t always score a lot but I want to score more this season. It starts with the first game.

“It’s always good and it was a good goal as well so it was always nice.”

Regis Le Bris’ team put in a valiant effort in both halves against Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool side despite falling to a 4-2 defeat, with Le Fée’s goal followed up by Timur Tutierov’s goal in the second half.

Le Fée emphasised the strong performance in tough conditions in the Tennessee heat.

“It was tough because it was really hot but I think it was really important to play in this temperature because when we go back, it’ll be easier,” he added.

“I think we did well and it was a really good first half.

“Even the second half, the young players did good things as well and scored a really good goal so we keep going for pre-season.”
