I’m incredibly proud to be covering such a great club, who have so often played a role in my professional journey, whether generally as a football fan or, more recently, a journalist.
It was Vicarage Road where I had my first experience attending a game in a media capacity, back in October 2022.
More: Watford confirm signing of Senegal international Diatta
Watford conceded agonisingly late, in the 98th minute, as they lost 2-1 to Swansea City, but it was the Vic - and, admittedly, memories of a 20-minute delay due to a communications issue for the officials - that have stayed with me until now.
Seeing the sentiment towards my predecessor, Adam, online this week, I am aware of the huge shoes I have to fill, and I will stop at nothing to do that.
Delighted to say that I’ll be covering all things #WatfordFC for @Observer_Owl for the next eight weeks or so, taking the reins from the excellent @Adam_Drury1. Getting straight into the thick of it with a new signing on day one! Details of Krepin Diatta’s arrival 👇…

So, a bit about me.
After finding my feet, I have spent the past year and a bit covering Nottingham Forest week in, week out, coinciding with a placement I had in the club’s media team.
Through this experience, I am well accustomed to head coach turnover, and have experienced my fair share of managerial unveilings, although I hope my next one is a long way in the future!
My experience to date has shaped the journalist I am today. It has developed a hunger within me, meaning that I will leave no stone unturned to tell a story that needs to be told, to an audience, or fanbase, who deserve to hear it told.
Whatever the coming weeks may bring, and I join you in hoping that form picks up quickly, I’ll be there with you, whether it’s a cold Tuesday night in Cardiff or a sunny autumn afternoon at The Vic.
I can't wait to get started.
