Thomas Tuchel needs to secure the international future of Brian Madjo ‘as soon as possible’.
That’s according to Dean Saunders who has lauded the Aston Villa teenager as he returns from injury.
Madjo, who signed for Villa from Metz in January, announced himself to his new public when he scored and terrorised Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup at the start of the season.
However, he picked up an injury soon after which, combined with problems getting FIFA to ratify his registration, means he is yet to make his Premier League debut.
That could come in the next few weeeks as the 17-year-old looks to build on a goal in the behind-closed-doors friendly against Sevilla.
And Saunders, who spent three year at Villa in the 1990s, thinks he’s such a promising talent his future with England needs nailing down and he told BetSelect.co.uk: “I like Nicolas Jackson. I like his movement. The only question is whether he has that killer instinct in front of goal.
“As a striker, when you go through on goal, a clear picture comes into your head and you immediately know how you need to finish the chance. If you have a blur in that moment, you’re in trouble. I think Jackson sometimes has that blur.

“I really like the look of Brian Madjo. You wouldn’t want to play against him if you were a centre-back! Thomas Tuchel needs to give him a cap as soon as possible, before another nation snaps him up.”
Madjo was born in Enfield but he left England at a young age and was raised in Luxembourg. He has played for the Luxembourg senior team but only in friendlies, which means at his age he remains eligible for the Three Lions. He has since played for England’s Under-17s.
Saunders also noted Villa had to wait four games before winning and scoring in the Premier League after a summer exodus: “Aston Villa have had a tough start to the season, but they lost half their team in the summer. At the end of last season, everyone was saying how good a team Aston Villa were and talking about them taking the next step to challenge for the Premier League title. Then they go and lose half their team in one transfer window and it was a lot of their best players.
“They lost Emi Martinez, Ezri Konso, Lucas Digne, Youri Tielemans, Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins. That’s the spine of the team. There haven’t been many positives for Villa so far, but the new goalkeeper Zion Suzuki is definitely one. He has looked good.”
