Cherries striker Kroupi nominated for award at prestigious Ballon d

The Cherries striker is up for the Men’s Young Talent of the Year award at the famous awards, which sees the world’s best player crowned, among a plethora of other gongs.

Kroupi will be up against nine other players on the shortlist, which recognises player achievements for the 2025/26 season.

That was a breakout campaign for the young French striker, as he broke a league record to be the first teenager to score 13 goals in a debut Premier League season in England, surpassing Robbie Fowler and Robbie Keane’s previous record of 12.

He made 35 total appearances in all competitions last term as Bournemouth reached European qualification for the first time, becoming a key part of the Cherries side under Andoni Iraola.

Kroupi is yet to feature for Marco Rose’s team this season, after a foot injury picked up in pre-season required surgery, with the young forward expected back in action in October or November.

The 2026 Ballon d’Or ceremony will take place in London for the first time on Monday, October 26, as it will be staged outside of Paris to mark the famous award’s 70th anniversary.
