Former Albion keeper Kjell Scherpen reportedly set to sign for Premier League side Ipswich.
The 6ft 9 keeper played for Union Saint-Gilloise last season. Before going to USG on a permanent deal in 2025, he was an Albion Player.
Joining in 2021, Scherpen has had the chance to play for the club. Instead, he had loan spells with Oostende, Vitesse, and a double-season loan at Sturm Graz from 2022 to 2025.
Last year, he joined USG on a permanent deal. Brighton were wise in negotiations, adding a sell-on clause to the shot-stopper.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Kjell would be heading to Ipswich on Monday, July 27th.
The journalist posted to X, writing: "Kjell Scherpen has completed his medical at Ipswich Town today ahead of €10m plus €3m add-ons move.
“Brighton had a 40% sell-on clause from USG as part of the deal.”
In the 2025/26 season, Scherpen made 32 appearances for USG.
