The Reds ended their four-match winless run since the extended international break in a dramatic fashion as they beat the Wanderers 3-2 on Saturday afternoon. In an entertaining contest, goals from Dom Ballard, Sam Bell and Twine secured the points for City at the Toughsheet Community Stadium.
Ballard gave the Robins an early lead, before Josh Sheehan and Sam Dalby scored either side of the break to put the hosts in the ascendancy. Bolton maintained that advantage until the 83rd minute, when Bell struck his first of the term, shortly after coming on.
Then, in the third of seven minutes of added time, fellow substitute Twine smashed home with his right foot, having been picked out by a Jed Wallace cutback to complete the turnaround and kickstart the celebrations in the away end.
"It was brilliant to be fair," Twine told BBC Radio Bristol on his late winner. "It is probably one of, if not my favourite moment on a football pitch, definitely for Bristol City.
"It was a brilliant moment, especially in front of all the fans. There were a lot there; they stayed, and it was nice to get the three points for them in the end.

"You want to be on the pitch as much as possible," the attacking midfielder continued. "But to come on and make a difference at the end, it means the world. As I say, we've got a massive squad, quality in every position, and I think that showed today. It has done all season, to be fair.
"I think that's a massive plus in our squad. It's competitive, and we know that we can have players who can come on and make a difference in games. Belly came on and was brilliant today with his goal.
"Jed, I thought, was outstanding as well. He couldn't have placed it any better for me, to be fair. I was just hoping he'd seen me there, and thankfully he did. As I say, it was enjoyable out there."
Coming into the weekend's meeting with Bolton, the Robins had not only failed to win any of their four previous games, but had also managed to score a single goal across those four matches, a Twine penalty away at Charlton Athletic three weeks prior.
Naturally, such a fact meant that there were plenty of eyes focused on the Reds' forward players - such as Twine, Ballard and Lorent Tolaj - heading into the weekend. Not only did City manage to score three goals to end that aforementioned barren run, but they could've - with a greater clinical edge - have scored even more.
"In the Championship, every game is tough," Twine explained. "Especially when you've not been on your best form, it feels like every game is so hard, but I thought we did well today. I thought we had a lot of chances.
"Obviously, it was quite an open game, and they had chances as well, but it's a step in the right direction. There are more positives to take out of that game, and it's nice to get the three points with it as well.
"We've struggled to make as many chances, and we focused on that this week. In this game today, I thought we were a lot better at that; I thought we had a lot of good chances. We possibly could have scored more, but we're going to keep improving, keep training to get better and hopefully, get more moments like that.
"I think there's obviously still lots to improve on; we all know that, but overall it's a good three points, a good win against - I think - quite a good team as well."
Saturday's win sees the Reds climb up to the 14th in the Championship table after 13 games. At the time of writing, Michael Skubala's side's gap to West Ham United and the play-off places stands at four points, while the margin to Burnley and the bottom three is a comfortable nine points.
City's next chance to move closer to the top eight will come this Wednesday, when they welcome Wolves to Ashton Gate in front of the Sky Sports cameras. The Molinuex-based side, having been relegated from the Premier League last term, sit third, four points shy of early leaders Middlesbrough.

Although things are unlikely to be easy for Twine and his teammates against Cesar Peixoto's side, the attacking midfielder views the meeting with the promotion favourites as a chance to pick up where the Robins left off against Bolton.
"I think this league, all season long, it will be: if you have a few bad results, you'll drop quite a few positions and if you have a few good results - like we have done earlier in the season - you go up quite a few positions," Twine explained. "That's just the nature of the league; it's so tight, so demanding, so we've just got to build on our consistency and build on this today."
On Wolves, he added, "They'll be a good team, but we'll be aiming to win that game. We'll be going at our home town trying to win. We're looking forward to that."
