Player ratings as Argyle have to settle for Wycombe point

Murphy Cooper 6 - Made a good early save to tip a shot from Jamie Mullins onto the top of the bar and out of play for a corner as Wycombe made a strong start. There was a let-off for Cooper in the second half when he could not hold onto a low strike from Daniel Harvie and Emre Tezgel slotted the loose ball into the net but an offside flag was raised.

Wes Harding 6 - The Argyle captain and right-back had his hands full with Wycombe's lively attacker Silko Thomas and generally did a decent job, but one foul on him which resulted in a yellow card for Harding also led to Wycombe's 76th minute equaliser when Connor Taylor headed home Ewan Henderson's free-kick into the penalty area.

Mathias Ross 7 STAR MAN - Argyle had to defend strongly in the second half as Wycombe pushed hard and in that regard they were led well by Ross, who never shirked from any of the many challenges he had to make, including one vital block inside the penalty area during a goalmouth scramble.

Julio Pleguezuelo 7 - After two previous substitute appearances against Exeter City and Stockport County at the start of this season, Pleguezuelo got his first start at Wycombe and produced a strong defensive display before being taken off in the 70th minute with him suffering from cramp.

Alex Hartridge 6 - Wycombe had to deal with several long throw-ins from Hartridge which were propelled well inside their penalty area and they did so well. The left-back produced some very committed defending at times when Argyle really needed it.

Xavier Amaechi 5 - Returned to the starting line-up after his goal and good cameo performance as a substitute in the 3-1 home defeat by Stockport, but although there were some flashes of attacking promise from him, with one second half shot not far wide, there were not enough of them and he was substituted shortly after the hour mark.

Malachi Boateng - Was caught by a late tackle from Wycombe's Jamie Mullins in the fifth minute and after lengthy assessment from physio Gareth Law the midfielder limped slowly off the pitch and was substituted. Tom Cleverley confirmed after the game that Boateng, a League One ever present for Argyle last season, had a knee ligament injury and the midfielder left Adams Park on crutches and with a brace on his right leg.

Harvey White 6 - Argyle really tried to test out their former goalkeeper Conor Hazard with accurate corners into the heart of the Wycombe goalmouth from White and Ronan Curtis but the Northern Ireland international came up with some good punched clearances. White had one good free-kick opportunity in the second half when the Pilgrims were 1-0 up but curled his shot over the bar.

Ronan Curtis 6 - Was always prepared to drive forward when he got the ball on the left of midfield, such as one occasion in the first half when the game was still goal-less and he cut inside onto his right foot before shooting just too high. His set piece delivery posed a threat too.

Will Evans 6 - Opened his goalscoring account for Argyle with an excellent left-foot finish on the spin inside the Wycombe box in the 25th minute and thought he had got a second just before the interval when he fired past Conor Hazard but was ruled to have been offside. His versatility was called upon later as he was switched to play in a wide left midfield role for the closing stages of the game.

Bim Pepple 5 - The striker was very closely marked throughout this game by Wycombe, whether it was either of the centre-back pairing of Steve Cook or Connor Taylor, so he did not get many chances to show his attacking ability. He did have one shot well blocked during a goalmouth scramble in the second half.

Bradley Ibrahim 7 - Was an eighth minute substitute for Malachi Boateng and put in a solid all-round display, combining good attacking play with some important defensive work, and could now have the chance of playing regularly if his team-mate's knee ligament injury is signifcant as feared by Tom Cleverley.

Caleb Watts 6 - A first outing for Argyle since the end of last season following an ankle injury. He played as a '10' behind Bim Pepple, with Will Evans moving to a wide left midfield role. Watts had one good shooting opportunity from a central position shortly before Wycombe equalised but pulled the ball wide of the target.

Alex Mitchell 6 - Was sent on as a 70th minute substitute for Julio Pleguezuelo, who had cramp, with Argyle looking to manage 'the load' - the game time - of Mitchell after he experienced a recent knee tendon issue.
