Hull City: Jens Hjerto-Dahl joins on five-year deal

BBC Sport · Man City

Hull City have signed Norwegian midfielder Jens Hjerto-Dahl from Tromso on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old is the Eliteserien's joint-second highest scorer midway through the Norwegian season, which ends in November, with seven goals in 14 games.

The Norway Under-21 international brings European experience to the Tigers, who are back in the Premier League this season, having played in Europa League and Conference League qualifying matches.

"I'm very happy. It's a massive club and I'm really looking forward to playing here," said Hjerto-Dahl.

"I needed a challenge and this is the biggest challenge you can get. I think this is the right step and that Hull can help me improve."

Hjerto-Dahl is Hull's sixth signing of the summer transfer window and will join fellow new signings Oscar Zambrano and Hidemasa Morita in Sergej Jakirovic's midfield.

Goalkeepers Jack Butland and Konstantinos Tzolakis have also moved to the Tigers, along with left-back Matt Targett.
