Next stop Premier League? Canaries unveil striking

Eastern Daily Press · By Adam Harvey

Norwich City have unveiled their striking new purple third strip, which has already been nicknamed the 'bus seat' kit.

The purple-chequered design has been likened to a purple transport print.

And the club seem keen to lean into this with the promotional photoshoot featuring Jack Stacey, Oscar Schwartau and Andre Brooks, featuring the backdrop of a colourful bus interior.

It will be worn on the road by both City's men's and women's teams during the new season, as Philippe Clement's side target a top-eight finish and Perry Northeast's team look to consolidate their position in Tier 3 following promotion last term.

The front of the shirt features the logo of sponsors Blakely for the third season running, while Green Light Consultancy Group appears on the back. Supporters can purchase it now online and from the club stores at Carrow Road and Jarrolds.

Shot on a First Bus and shared across the club's channels, the shirt launch promo also features men's first-team players Harry Darling and Bruno Alves, alongside women's team players Holly Kennard and Poppy Groves modelling the threads.

It follows the release of City's home and away kits over the past three weeks, both of which have already been worn during pre-season.

The home strip was first worn against King's Lynn Town before also featuring in the friendlies against Colchester United and AFC Wimbledon, while the away kit made its debut in the 3-0 victory over Swiss Super League side St Gallen.

City have three pre-season fixtures remaining, beginning with tomorrow's behind-closed-doors clash against Fulham before returning to Norfolk to face Osasuna and Cambridge United.

Their competitive campaign then begins against MK Dons in the first round of the Carabao Cup at Carrow Road on August 8, before they kick off their Championship season at home to West Brom the following week.

The club statement revealing the third kit said: “This season’s third shirt is purple, lilac and mint, featuring a 90s-inspired sublimated pattern on the body and sleeves.

“Designed to stand out both on and off the pitch, the shirt combines a nostalgic aesthetic with a contemporary fit.

“Created with Joma for comfort and performance, the shirt is crafted from a lightweight, breathable fabric made from 92% recycled polyester and 8% elastane. A purple and mint ribbed round neck with matching sleeve cuff trim completes the shirt's bold colour palette.”
