Canaries confirm heads of scouting and physiotherapy roles

Norwich City have confirmed the appointment of new heads of scouting and physiotherapy.

Gabor Ruhr will be the club's new head of scouting. he has already started work at City, having taken the role following Lee Dunn's promotion to assistant sporting director after Neil Adam's retirement earlier this summer.

Ruhr has a decade of experience in German football, and has held roles in performance analysis, scouting and football leadership with clubs including 1. FC Köln, Eintracht Frankfurt and Hertha BSC.

Most recently, he was head of scouting and squad planning at Köln.

Andrew Procter is joining from Blackburn Rovers as City's head of physiotherapy.

A former professional midfielder with over 500 career appearances, Procter joined Rovers from Wigan Athletic in 2020 as first-team physio. He was then promoted to head of department the following year and has held the post since. He'd previously held the same title at Portsmouth and the Latics.

City says Procter is 'bringing extensive expertise in physiotherapy, performance services, and player care'.

The club has also brought Dr Pippa Bennett back as its chief medical officer.

Bennett has over 20 years of experience in elite sports, including supporting athletes at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games and leading medical services within the Paralympic programme.

She also played a significant role in the evolution of England women’s football, supporting the Lionesses for 14 years as a leading sports medicine specialist during a period of growing professionalism and international success under Hope Powell.

Bennett is currently head of clinical governance at the UK Sports Institute and Paralympic chief medical officer.

City are also in the final stages of appointing a football development director to lead the strategic direction across all academy age groups.
