Ingelsson, aged 27, has been the stand-out performer at crisis club Wednesday this season and has now made 79 appearances since moving to England from Hansa Rostock in 2024.

MIllwall and Portsmouth are believed to have had bids rejected in the January window but his future will be up for discussion again at the end of the season following Wednesday's relegation.

The former Sweden youth international is coming to the end of a two-year contract although he is expected to have a one-year extension option triggered, meaning that he would not be a free agent.

The Sheffield Star claims that Stoke have "signalled a strong interest" while West Bromwich Albion and Preston North End are among other parties who are keen.

Stoke, who have two matches left of this campaign, are expected to revamp their midfield ahead of next season and it is likely to be a busy summer of comings and goings in that department.
