CHERRIES development squad player Michael Dacosta Gonzalez has left the club to join fellow Black Knight Football Club team Moreirense.
Dacosta Gonzalez heads to the Portuguese top flight on a permanent move, which Bournemouth said "strengthens the close sporting relationship" between the two clubs.
It also "reinforces the group’s commitment to creating clear development pathways for emerging talent", the Cherries’ statement on their website said.
It continued: "His permanent switch to Moreirense provides an exciting opportunity to establish himself in Europe, with regular first-team football offering the ideal platform to continue his growth.
"The transfer also highlights the collaborative vision shared across the Black Knight family, where clubs work together to maximise opportunities for players while maintaining a unified football philosophy.

"The close relationship between AFC Bournemouth and Moreirense enables talented individuals to take the next step in environments tailored to their development, benefiting both player and club.
"Everyone at AFC Bournemouth would like to thank Michael for his dedication and professionalism during his time at Vitality Stadium and wishes him every success as he begins this new chapter in Portugal."
Dacosta Gonzalez joined the Cherries when he was 11, and moved to England from Spain with his mother and younger brother Malcom, who is also in the Bournemouth setup.
He made two appearances for Hartlepool on loan in September and October 2025, starting once against York City in the National League.
The 21-year-old was an important part of Alan Connell’s development squad, and he played a prominent role in their Premier League Cup run to the quarter-finals last season.
He has featured in Premier League match squads while at the club, appearing on the bench in April 2024.
