The Sky Blues have already amassed 86 points this season, with three fixtures left to play as they chase the title. Regardless of whether they lift the trophy, Lampard has already secured personal recognition for his efforts.

“I’m very happy, while it’s an individual award it takes everything from the players and those at the club," he said. "It’s been a special year and that’s testament to all involved.

"We’ve got a really good group, we didn’t make too many changes and we’ve really carried on from where we were last season - All credit to the players, I am really happy for them and the whole club.”

The 47-year-old received the Championship Manager of the Season honour at the EFL awards ceremony on Sunday evening. Several Coventry players were also acknowledged, with a number earning places in the Championship team of the season.

Goalkeeper Carl Rushworth was selected, alongside Milan van Ewijk, Matt Grimes and Haji Wright. Coventry will look to move closer to securing the Championship crown in midweek when they host Portsmouth at the CBS Arena.

The Coventry Telegraph has produced a stunning special edition marking the achievements of Frank Lampard and his men.

And to celebrate, the Coventry Telegraph has produced this stunning 48-page special edition marking the achievements of Frank Lampard and his men.

Since relegation in 2001, the Sky Blues have gone through many well-documented lows, but a quarter of a century later, free-scoring City have earned promotion in emphatic style.

And our bumper special edition is the perfect souvenir to remember that fantastic achievement by.

We'll have match reports, pics, and reaction from every kick of City's journey back to English football's promised land.

It's all here... the avalanche of goals pre-Christmas that made promotion look nailed on, the brief wobble that followed, and the revival under Lampard to consolidate their position at the top of the table.

Plus, Sky Blues writer Andy Turner will have pages and pages of in-depth analysis on the title-winning season, manager Lampard's success, key players, and what lies ahead for the club in the top flight.

Club historian Jim Brown will also share his fact-filled take on promotion, while there will be pictures and reports from the Sky Blues' joyful promotion celebrations.

Their final two matches of the season see them face Wrexham and Watford. Following confirmation of Coventry's promotion, Lampard said: "It's amazing.

"I've talked before about the fan base, what they've gone through and all the disappointments, and they've stuck with the club and all the stories. And then now they get this moment. It's a serious, serious football club. I didn't even realise.

"I knew the history. I knew Coventry growing up. Coventry were a Premier League, First Division team. But this incredible fan base and what it means to the city, and what these players have achieved.

"We came in 15 months ago, 17th in the league. Mark Robins has done an incredible job to get them back up where they were. But then to go and get automatic promotion as a non-parachute team with three games to go.

"Those boys there, how they've listened and trained and everything they've done every day. It makes me feel emotional because they're so great to work with, and they deserve every second of celebrating and getting it done.

"This league is hard. It's getting harder because even the teams that are fighting for relegation, teams that have got players and squads and that. People think it's easy.

"It's not. It's harder. And these boys have managed to achieve something pretty unique and absolutely special and incredible. I'm delighted."

On how his players had dealt with the pressure, Lampard added: "I try to be simple and direct about it. I don't like to talk too much. My situation 15 years ago in a big game is maybe different to theirs but maybe it's one of the positives of having a long career and then becoming a manager. You have lived it.

"I can give some personal reflections or words which can impact the players. I have been here before. Every game is a banana skin if you don't approach it in the right way - if you either relax or allow the pressure to overcome you.

"So I try to keep it simple and if I feel it's time for a little bit of a poke, I can give them a poke. I get on well with them, I think I do. I can give them that poke and sometimes you try to find the right situation."

Sky broadcasts more than 1,400 live matches across the Premier League, EFL and more with at least 215 live from the top flight alongside Formula 1, darts and golf.
